Ceiling fans were invented in 1882 by Philip Diehl to circulate air around an average size room. However with the appliance normally taking the position of the light source in the centre of the ceiling, there was the need for an improvement to be made.

From then on ceiling fans came equipped with their own lighting fixture for illuminating a room. (more…)
